The Rotary Club of Wicomico County held its annual Installation of Officers on June 13th at the Salisbury University Gallery in Downtown Salisbury. We celebrated the fabulous year led by outgoing President Tracy Hajir and her team and welcomed incoming President Molly Hilligoss and her team.
Also celebrated was the 35th Anniversary of the Club with a presentation by Past President Don Hackett on those 35 years of Service Beyond Self.
2023 Disc Golf Tournament

First Annual Disc Golf Tournament held on June 9th at Schumaker Pond Park. Funds raised from this year's event will help support two local agencies: The Life Crisis Center and The Salisbury Salvation Army for the building of the Future Playground.
Rotary Club of Wicomico County Presents 2021 “Hero” Award

In partnership with the Salisbury Independent and WMDT, The Wicomico Rotary’s Club presented the Hero Award on February 1, 2022.
This award is designed to honor an individual who has performed a single Act or Event within Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset or Dorchester Counties, that represents an Amazing and Heroic Act during the calendar year. Nominations are accepted through December 31st of each year.

Tracy Hajir, a 8-year Rotarian, was introduced as the 2022-2023 President of The Rotary Club of Wicomico County. Hajir was nominated by a committee of Past Presidents and unanimously accepted by club members in May 2021 as the 2021-2022 President-Elect.
Hajir, Assistant to the President of Salisbury University, served as Secretary for the past two years.

Wicomico County officials honored the Rotary Club of Wicomico County for its donation to Field 7 ½ during a presentation at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Located between fields 7 and 8 at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex, Field 7 ½ is designed to provide individuals with physical or mental disabilities the opportunity to play baseball.
The Rotary Club of Wicomico County has committed $50,000 to sponsor the dugouts at Field 7 ½.

Melvin Harris and his wife Clara spent most of their careers as educators in Wicomico County Schools. He was at the former Bennett Junior High School, although his impact stretched to the former Salisbury High School where he taught all-black students in a segregated system. He spent several years at Bennett Junior High creating such a love for music. He spent several years at Bennett Junior High creating such a love for music. Former students were even at elementary schools in the county.

Little Free Libraries

The Rotary Club of Wicomico County is pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Little Free Library Organization to build and install five “Little Libraries” in Wicomico County. These are currently being installed at the following locations:
• Tide Mill Apartments,
• Hebron Savings Bank on Nanticoke Rd.
• Hebron Savings Bank in Hebron
• Bank of Delmarva on Eastern Shore Drive
• Richard A. Henson Family YMCA.
